CultuurBy George Brady
The International School Wassenaar (ISW) proudly announced the results for the May 2026 cohort of Diploma Programme (DP) graduates. Of the 42 students who sat for the full exam session, 95% successfully achieved their International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.
ISW was established in 2019 as an independent international school within the Rijnlands Lyceum Wassenaar. According to the school this year’s cohort performed above the worldwide average in almost all the subject areas. Special congratulations to Julien Buc with the highest total score of 44 out of a possible 45 points. The school’s average score across all students was an impressive 31 points, reflecting the dedication and hard work of ISW students and teachers.
I am personally proud of our son who was in this year’s graduating class. Over his six-year tenure at ISW he has successfully navigated the exceptionally rigorous program which aims to instill “international mindfulness” through “student-centric” learning. The DP requires studies in 6 traditional subject areas with at least 3 at Higher Level. Students must also complete an extended essay, wrestle with the theory of knowledge itself, and engage in activities that involve creativity, physical activity and service to the community to enhance.
Our journey continues with one more son who is on track to graduate in 2027 with the third graduating class at ISW, further testament to a successful program launched to provide a unique learning environment within the Rijnlands Lyceum system.
