Social Democrats (PvdA) encourage expats to vote 14, 15 or 16th of March

Wassenaar is an open-minded, hospitable town. The thousands of expats who live here, and who have come from all over the world, can testify to that. We cherish your presence here as well as your contribution to our joint community. Your participation in the municipal elections on 14, 15 and 16 March will be another example of the expat commitment to the place where they live today. The Social Democrats of the PvdA invite all eligible expats to make use of their democratic right and vote for Wassenaar’s local council.

The PvdA is indispensable for keeping Wassenaar an enjoyable place to live and work. Like the Democratic Party in the US, we strive for a society that allows each citizen to live a pleasant life. This entails promoting affordable housing, good education, and decent jobs for all. We also welcome recognized refugees in our midst. In order to make this possible the Social Democrats advocate a high quality of public services and ensure that they are accessible to all Wassenaar citizens, be they rich or less well-off, fit or handicapped, Dutch or foreign.
Our town is a natural jewel, but also jewelry needs upkeep. Therefore, the municipality should invest more in a clean environment and take its responsibility in the fight against global warming. For a sustainable future the local government can equally play an indispensable role in the energy transition. The PvdA pleads for thinking globally and acting locally. The Wassenaar council could, for instance, lead by example and make its own real estate energy efficient. It should also encourage its citizens and local businesses to speed up this much-needed transition.
If expats want to contribute to keeping our Wassenaar a pleasant place for all, with priority for climate sustainability and accessibility of good public services, they may want to consider voting for the PvdA in the upcoming local elections. Thank you.
